A simple exercise to help align us with universal love so that we can see, be and receive more love.
Our brains often make up stories to help us feel safe and in control when faced with an unknown. Often, these assumptions can cause us more stress and suffering. Bringing awareness and testing our assumptions can help us to break out of that habit.
Some thoughts on the importance of knowing and writing your own story, and the ways in which story is and is not helpful in our personal growth and development.
A special guest Livestream for Heather Woodruff Nutrition. This video explores the connections between wellness and purpose at the level of both cause (how living our purpose supports our health) and effect (how good health supports us in living our purpose) .
I am and have always been reliable, a rock solid presence for my friends and family. In my younger years, I placed a high value on also being consistent. I was naive to think that once you become established as an “adult”, you pretty much are who you will be. It felt somehow safe and right to know that I and my loved ones could take comfort in knowing who I am and counting on me to show up as expected...until it didn’t.
As my 20’s unfolded into my 30’s, I realized that what I most need from myself, and from my relationships, is the freedom to grow, learn and change. That, whether we like it or not, I encounter periods of deep growth and transformation and literally become a new person at the cellular, spiritual and emotional level every 7-10 years. These growth spurts are amazing and confusing and often painful, but each time I step more fully into the person I am meant to be...and into a more extraordinary life.
When I hear the call to change I know I, and those who love me, are in for a wild ride. I go from feeling ease, like I mostly have things figured out to starting anew, as though it’s the first day of 7th grade and nothing feels sure. It is anything but comfortable but it is the fertile ground out of which the most incredible experiences of my life emerge.
It is true that consistency feels solid and safe, but for me it came at a cost of being ordinary, predictable, and stuck. As it turns out, I can be reliable, loyal, loving AND extraordinary at the same time. When all is said and done, I would much rather be the friend, sister, partner who showed up with my light shining bright...who surprised, inspired, delighted and challenged my loved ones to see more possibilities within themselves and shine with me.
This video shares some resources and research that I hope will inspire you to continue your Gratitude Challenge year-round.
The world needs you to share your gifts and talents. Don't let these 3 little things stop you from shining!
This little Kabocha squash is so cute, I almost hate to turn it into squash sage walnut pâté’. The traditional Thanksgiving foods tend to be brown or white at our house, so my mom asked me to “bring some color" this year. We laughed because that comes naturally ;-)
Squash pâté’, Brie with blueberry preserves & pecans, Brussels sprout salad, rosemary white bean spread, and wisecracks. I love to cook, and I love to laugh. Both of these, I love to share with my family.
Each dish at our table comes together to make our meal special. Along with that, each of us brings a quality or qualities that make our time together as friends and family special. Humor, compassion, diplomacy, love, acceptance, gratitude, wisdom, a listening ear, creativity,....
We each bring our own "color," our unique gifts and personalities to our holiday gatherings. What will you bring to the table this Thanksgiving?
