Possibility Just Beneath the Surface

Our first shiitakes, fruited this fall from logs inoculated with friends on Easter, 2016. For 18 months we watered and watched this little log pile, seeded with spores and hope, unsure when or if the fruits of our labor would emerge while all the while a vibrant mycelium network bursted with invisible possibility just beneath the surface. 

This happens often in life. We work to bring our hopes and dreams into fruition....and then we wait....and wait. There is always creative potential happening just under the surface. Even as it begins to feel like nothing is moving forward....it is always possible for more to unfold in the mystery of time.
